TCS Education System


TCS Education System is the non-profit organization that is taking the model of education from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and expanding it to other non-profit institutions. TCS Education System comprises of The Chicago School, Pacific Oaks College, and Santa Barbara Colleges of Law.


Most of IT's function, including my own, was transferred to TCS Education System. This created a shared service model so that resources could be centralized for all organizations.

As a result, during the last 2 years, the IT department had grown to 32 staff members. The level and complexity of technology expanded and the vision of IT became about integration and implementation of robust technology.


The Chicago School of Professional Psychology


The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is the largest non-profit psychology school in the country. The school is a higher-education only institution with multiple locations in Chicago, Southern California, and in Washington DC.


In June 2006 I became the System Administrator for The Chicago School. At the time, the organization comprised a staff of 3 employees, a director, a network administrator, and a system administrator. The organization was located in one building across 3 floors.


For the next 3 years, the school grew and expanded geographically across the country. To support this growth, the IT department expanded the staff of 24 serving different functions, from helpdesk to application, network, and system support, and IT project management. The school invested heavily on revamping the small business technology for standardized Cisco and Microsoft technology. Virtualization became the standard adoption and allowed for the expanded growth of services.


Orbitz LLC


I became an intern for Orbitz and subsequently, was hired on full-time for my hard work and dedication to the department. Orbitz was a fast-paced organization that was growing rapidly largely in-part due to its acquisition by the parent company Cendant. Orbitz in turn acquired 2 other companies.

During the height of the growth, upwards of 20 new employees were being hired every 2 weeks. In turn, we upgraded our physical location, hardware, and software platforms to handle the expanded growth of the institution.
